Why it sticks

   Moldova's flag is almost identical to Romania's but carries the national coat of arms; the official language is Romanian.

   Transnistria, the strip east of the Dniester, is an unrecognised breakaway region with its own government and currency.

   The cellars of Mileștii Mici hold the world's largest wine collection, in tunnels running for about 200 km.
